Care Instructions
Before cleaning, turn off the fixture and allow it to cool completely.
While cleaning, always wear gloves. The natural oils from hands will leave discolorations on unlacquered metal that will deepen over time.
Do not use abrasives or harsh chemicals because they may damage the material finishes.

For everyday cleaning

Wearing gloves, gently dust with a dry microfiber cloth.

For more thorough cleaning
|
Spray a second microfiber cloth with a gentle cleaner until lightly damp and use this to wipe down the fixture. Some gentle cleaners we recommend are water, Sprayway brand foaming aerosol glass cleaner, and gentle dish soap diluted in water.
Finish by wiping down the fixture with a dry microfiber cloth.

For fingerprint discolorations
on brass |
This process uses products supplied in our deep cleaning kit and is only recommended for natural brass finishes. Do not use this process for antiqued or blackened brass finishes.
Wearing gloves, coat a portion of extra fine steel wool with microcrystalline wax. Using light, consistent pressure, gently buff the brass discoloration and the areas surrounding it with the coated steel wool. When the discoloration has been removed, apply a light coat of wax with a microfiber cloth to seal the buffed areas. Only a light coat is needed. When all surfaces have been coated with wax, use a clean microfiber cloth to gently wipe away any excess.

For a slower patina
on brass |
All of our brass finishes are unlacquered, which means that they will naturally patina over time. If you would prefer to slow this oxidation process, you may follow the process listed below every 3-5 years using the products supplied in our deep cleaning kit.
Protect adjacent wood and glass components. Wearing gloves, lightly coat a portion of a clean microfiber cloth with microcrystalline wax. Using light, consistent pressure, gently buff all surfaces of the brass with the cloth. Only a light coat is needed. When all surfaces have been coated with wax, use a clean microfiber cloth to gently wipe away any excess.
